Universal Consciousness or God:  In a dark room can you see the Flashlight instrument itself with the light?

Defining Consciousness is a very difficult topic because there are different aspects to it with as many different definitions. When we talk about human consciousness and try to figure out what it is we can never really find it and define it as an object. 

This is because the "seer" and the "seen" in this case become the same and that itself defies the logic.

For example, in a dark room when you enter with a flashlight, can you see the flashlight itself with its own light ( assuming there is no reflected or diffused light ).
As I read and listen to the extraordinary Gurus who talk about this concept which is discussed in Advaita Vedanta, or the concept of Oneness of all Universe,  and the philosophy of the Vedas from ancient India. Amazingly the age-old Rishis had such deep introspection and understanding of these concepts which modern science even today is trying to grapple with.

We contain or represent the same Universal Consciousness and experience itself through the various myriad of physical body manifestations. "You are that" is what the sages and scriptures mention in the Vedas. The Sanskrit is"Tat Twam Asi". At the core, we are all the same but that is the "seer" and the "seen" both being the same Universal entity.
