At some level, most of us suffer - self grandiosity and overestimation of our capabilities.

This is present at different levels or degrees of the trait within different persons. 

This feeling can also be with regard to only some specific areas of one's life only and not the overall personality. Maybe just looks, or wealth, or education, or whatever. 

Although some people are considered modest or not at all aggressive or passive or lack self-esteem or such, but,  I believe even those persons in some areas of their personality internally believe they are greater, perhaps feel grandiose in terms of compassion or modesty or honesty or such. 

The thing is that most of us do not feel that anything is wrong with this but we observe that this can affect our relationships.

 Psychologists have so many different categorizations and terms for these personality issues. For example 'Narcissistic Personality Disorder'  or 'anti-social personality' or even 'bi-polar' etc etc. There are even sub-categories of "oblivious" or "vulnerable" narcissists and so on.

My point is not about these disorders or treatments or anything like that. 

My point is just a self-realization of some of these patterns of thought which might be helpful to all of us. This can be a part of our meditation practice. Note that I am a proponent and strong believer or rather experiencer of the benefits of meditation. 

Simply analyzing these patterns of our mind while we sit down for meditation might help us pacify and soothe these anxious or difficult feelings leading to a feeling of calmness and wellness and overall happiness.


Again please note - I am not saying or proposing here that this is bad or a disorder or anything like that. I am not a psychologist ( although just studying in a college and getting a degree does not accredit the knowledge), but I am just a regular human being writing down my own thoughts and observations just in relation to my personal beneficial meditation practice.
